Your Coach & Trusted Advisor

Hi, I'm Laurel!

With 20+ years of experience in people & culture, strategy, and operations, primarily in healthcare and education, in both the for-profit (public and private) and non-profit sectors, and over 13,000 hours as a business and leadership coach focused on leadership development, business vision, strategy and planning, and priority management, my heart is centered on helping leaders and entrepreneurs cultivate confidence, courage, and joy in life and work.

I am also passionate about supporting organizations that make a difference in peoples' lives, like raising money for college and graduate school scholarships for women or serving on the board of a human rights organization.

I have had the privilege of being an invited speaker to the International Leadership Association’s Advancing Women in Leadership conference, the Autonomous Learner World Caucus at Oxford University, and George Fox University’s Leadership Symposium where I was awarded the university’s Servant Leader Award for Excellence.

I have a Ph.D. in Organizational Leadership and Human Resource Development. Studying the lives of five women CEOs of multi-million-dollar companies, my doctoral dissertation, The Influence of Human Agency on the Professional Path of Women in Executive Leadership Positions, explores the cultivation and actualization of human agency in these women’s lives and identifies how becoming agentic can help other women prepare for a professional path leading to executive leadership. I also earned a master’s in business administration (M.B.A.) and a bachelor’s in Theology (B.S.).

I’m an Enneagram Reformer, DISC Contemplator, Culture Index Philosopher/Scholar, and Meyers Briggs Confident Individualist.

What Fills My Cup

Being a contemplative and intellectual naturalist, my most meaningful moments in life include sinking my toes in the cool sandy beaches of the Pacific while on a sunset walk with my husband of 21 years, or going for a hike in the Colorado Rockies with my ten nieces and nephews and their moms and dads, or fly fishing an off-the-grid creek with my brother, or simply curling up with a personal development book, my Bible, and my journal.

Weeknights I can be found relaxing with Corey, snuggling with our cats, and watching a show about history, how something is made, or where there is buried treasure. On the weekends I relax from healthy eating, and eat sweets and drink London Fog Tea Lattes.

My Core Convictions

My Core Convictions are the non-negotiable guiding principles for my life. My convictions are inspired by wisdom and evidenced in my life by their corresponding Behaviors.

I am Love-Driven

“Show me a person who doesn’t know his talents or hasn’t developed them for service to others, and I will show you a person who has little sense of purpose, meaning, motivation and value.”

– Tom Paterson, Inventor

  • I pass on God’s love.

  • I serve others.

  • I work for the benefit of others.

  • I spend less time being professional and more time being personal.

  • I bless others.

  • I am motivated by love; not by pressure or obligation.

I am Courageous

“An idea that is not dangerous is unworthy of being called an idea at all.”

– Oscar Wilde, Poet

“When we show God our faith, He shows us His faithfulness.”

– Craig Groeschel, Speaker - Author

  • I fully yield control of my life to God.

  • I dream big.

  • I recognize that nothing worth doing is ever easy.

  • I move away from my comforts and chase the lion.

  • I don’t sit on the sidelines; I make the first move and lead the charge.

  • I give my abilities to God.

I Live With Integrity

“Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.”

– 1 Corinthians 13:4-7

  • I am incorruptible.

  • I am reliable.

  • I am honorable.

  • I have pure motives and no hidden agendas.

  • I follow-through and am true to my word.

  • I can be trusted.

I am Purposeful and Intentional

Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for men, since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving.

Colossians 3:23-24

  • I am thoughtful and deliberate in all things.

  • I work as an act of worship.

  • I am about God’s business. I am an extension of His nature; I am His messenger and ambassador.

  • I don’t let my own goals, ambition, pride, or self-will get in the way of His work.

  • I believe that nothing happens by luck or chance.
