9. Navigating Retirement, Cultivating a New Identity, Embracing Quietness, and Becoming More Whole with Wife, Mom, Grandma, and Former Mortgage Industry Expert – Diane Clark

Lifelong Texas Gal, Diane Clark, is a wife, mom, grandma to four, and an exceptionally successful career woman.

In this episode of Courage Becomes Her, Diane talks about planning and preparing for retirement, as well as becoming aware of how much her identity was wrapped up in her work and what it has looked like to embrace quietness and become more whole through this new season of retirement.

  • Be honest with yourself about your hesitations for retirement

  • Identify the lifestyle you want to have in retirement so that you can prepare for that and work toward it

  • Surround yourself with good people who will help you achieve your goals

  • Cling to your friends; get involved in their lives

  • Have relationships outside of your work life

  • Enjoy the ordinary in life
